The Innocence Collection

The Innocence collection is all dainty designs on pure white dresses. Since Valentine’s Day was still a few weeks away, my second smocked design was Pink Valentine.

Not long after that dress sold, I received my first request for a custom smocked dress, using this design, but in colors to match the buyer’s Blythe. I was still kind of stunned that anyone wanted to buy these labor-intensive dresses that were, by necessity, kind of pricey. To have someone approach me and ask for something special was really exciting.

At the same time, I worked Easter Rainbow, the same design in spring pastels. I embroidered this one while watching 28 DAYS LATER for the first time, and, every time I look at it, it makes me think of zombies.
