The name for the dress comes from its inspiration, the famous dress worn my Bette Davis in “All About Eve.”

The “Bette” dress features a fitted bodice with 3/4 length sleeves that extend over the shoulders to form part of the neckline. The dress is finished with a knee-length, gathered skirt.

“Bette” is probably not suited to the absolute beginner. It’s not a hard dress to sew, though working for a tiny doll like Blythe is always a challenge. Once the sewer understands HOW the pieces go together, it becomes an easy project that can be completed very quickly. Along with the cover page and one page of pattern pieces, the pattern includes 3 pages of instructions with photos to guide you through the sewing process.
